The cold that I picked up a couple of weeks ago left me without a voice for a few days, and that was pretty tough.
The following Saturday, I worked in my parents' grocery store and afterward went to Chuck-E-Cheese's with two of my nieces.
Last Monday, I felt well in time to go on a Junior Beta Club field trip to the Opryland Hotel for the annual Junior Beta Club convention. This year marked the 75th year of the Junior Beta Club, and I was happy to tag along again this year with some of my teacher friends. My official title was "chaperon".

There are all sorts of things inside of this hotel - including restaurants. This is the 2nd year that we teachers ate at the Irish Pub that features live Irish music. It's so great! the food and the music.
Tuesday night, I got back from Nashville and left Wednesday morning for Mississippi.
I had a wonderful time with Kara this Thanksgiving, and I was able to stay from Wednesday through Sunday. I got home last night around 11pm and was back at work this morning.
Saturday night, Kara and I went out to the movies and watched Bolt. Neither of us had heard of Bolt and didn't know much of anything about it, but we loved it! It was such a fun movie.
Afterward, we ate at a Japanese restaurant, used chopsticks, and dropped a lot of food with our chopsticks - we had a good time.
In about 15 minutes, the middle school basketball games will start, and I'm planning on watching the girls' and boys' junior varsity - maybe a little bit of the girls varsity - and going over to the high school to watch the high school junior varsity game (some of my students from last year will be playing).

What a fun Thanksgiving weekend. I don't recall the Irish Pub. I would really enjoy that. Wonder how I've always missed that one?
