Loooong Weekend

This past Monday was Martin Luther King, Jr. (his real name was Michael King) Day; so, school was closed to recognize this day.  Sunday night, Daniel and I went over to the Pounds' house and stayed the night.  We had a lot of fun playing ping pong, soccer, playstation, talking, and just spending time together.

Monday morning, I woke up and stumbled my way into the kitchen to see what was cookin'.  Andrew was at the table and said, "Look out the window."  It was snowing!  and it was really coming down!

After breakfast and playing one more round of NFL football on playstation with the boys, I decided I needed to leave before the roads got too bad.  After leaving, I remembered that I had planned to buy a shotgun and stock up on ammunition before the new president took office.

So before going home, I bought a shotgun and lots of ammo.  Kara and I both have talked about wanting a shotgun for home defense, and I'm really happy with what I found.

That night, Jeff came over to the Barber's house to stay the night and came over to my place (next door) to play some Wii.  Hannah and Renee' came over about an hour later and joined in with playing Wii.  About an hour later, Daniel came over, and we all had a really good time together playing Wii.  I found out soon after they left that school, for the next day, was CLOSED due to the snow!  I was so excited!  and enjoyed sleeping in.

The next day, I watched the presidential inauguration with Sister Jill (I was invited over for breakfast), Hannah,  Renee', Daniel, and Jeff.  My favorite quote from that time was when Jeff - seeing the number of people at the inauguration on television - said, "Yay! we're blissfully ignorant!"

Afterward, Matthew came downstairs, and we went back upstairs to play some Xbox games. I was just lazy all day, and everyone (later) walked back over to my place to play some more Wii.  Then, we walked back over to the Barber's to play some more Xbox.

I found out that night that school was closed for the next day too!  Another day!

Jeff came over that next morning, and we played Wii for awhile.  Then, we - along with Daniel and Matthew - walked down the road and through a trail to an area to shoot our guns.  I brought my shotgun, Jeff brought his shotgun, and Matthew and Daniel brought their dad's 22.  That was a lot of fun, and afterward Jeff and I cleaned our guns.

I played some more Xbox with Daniel and Jeff before stopping to get ready for Wednesday night church services.  Last night was prayer meeting.  After church, Jeff took us all out to eat at Mountain Pizza (I had never been there before) - it was really good!

After Mountain Pizza, Daniel came back with me to my place to play Big Brain Academy on my Wii, and Hannah and Renee' came over and played for awhile too.

So this morning (Thursday) is my first morning back to work since last Friday!  I've felt so lazy, but it has been nice.

Wow! I love when unexpected "free" times happen like that! Sounds like all you needed was Kara for the perfect weekend!
