one man - two houses

Since getting the new house, I have felt rather tossed back and forth between my old place and my new place. An electrician needs to come out to repair the dryer wall plug so I can do laundry, and Brother Doug plans to finish up working on the window that's in the shower soon - we're sealing it off with obscure plexi glass (instead of getting a little shower window curtain), and I'm waiting till that's done before putting on the new shower head and showering in my new house.

For those two reasons, I'm still sleeping, showering, and doing my laundry at my old place.

The new place is looking great though. Kara and Micah went back home yesterday, and while they stayed here over a week, the three of us got a lot accomplished.

The new house has a total of 6 rooms: we painted the bedroom (which has a fireplace) and bathroom a bluish gray color; the living room and dining room/office a really nice shade of green; and the kitchen and laundry room a really nice shade of yellow. The trim and door facings are white.

For the first time, I fixed a sink. Brother Doug told me what to do - but still. I felt (for a second or two) like a handy man. I took off the pee trap (that's the name of the pipe under the sink that dips down in a U shape) and found a weird clot of stuff that was causing the sink to stop up.

Saturday, we moved all of my furniture and boxes from my parents' house.

Kara and I are quite excited with the new house - makes us feel even closer to being married.
