Wednesday, Kara was preheating the oven, and she heard pops and saw smoke... upon opening the oven, she saw big flames coming from the bottom (and we have an electric stove). She turned the oven off and the flames went down.

We called Brother Doug that evening, and he said that it could be this or that needing changed. I called the landlord, Maurice, and left a message on his machine. We didn't hear back from Maurice that night, but the next day (which was yesterday), Kara sent me an email while I was at work telling me that we have a new oven!

I talked to Maurice, and he said that he was told that something needed to be changed out, and that changing it would be much cheaper. But, Maurice told me that he wanted to go ahead and get us a new oven since the other one was "old anyway."

We are very thankful for our landlord. He has always been very quick to respond to us when something needs to be repaired or needs his attention.

I'm excited about our new oven and stove, but I think Kara is even more excited.

Tonight, we plan on singing at the church in Knoxville. They host a hymn singing and fellowship every fourth Friday.
