TCAPs

Last week, state testing began here at the school where I work. Now with what I teach (computer technology), it's not tested by the state. So last year, I helped an 8th grade teacher while she was administering the test - they call that being a proctor. Not sure why there has to be a fancy name for it - a "helper" seems to fit the role just as well.

But this year, a 6th grade teacher has had a rough time with her health - and wasn't able to be here to administer the test. Now, you have to have your state teacher license to administer the test (and that I have). So, I was called upon to fill in each day that she wasn't here... every day.

It finally ended today! the part of the job that I least enjoyed was dealing with a few rude/defiant students and keeping them from disturbing others. I should have just sent them to the office to make up their tests at a different time, but I was patient... and tried to be longsuffering.

One thing that has been really nice is that teachers have brought breakfast and lunch foods for the teacher's lounge - so, I've enjoyed all of the food. Among many other foods, I had a really tasty Krispy Kreme Donut this morning.

Oh, I always hated and loved state testing. And I always had to take Science twice.
